An Itch?
Check this newspaper article out. Its quite bloody hilarious.
Basically a Chef from a Japanese restaurant was caught and charged with masturbating in public. He was caught by the security guard in the parking lot when he ‘offenced’ in front of a shampoo-girl while she was in her car.
His excuse is that he has a skin-disorder that caused him to remove his pants to ’scratch’ his private parts.
There’s nothing wrong with needing to scratch yourself in ’sensitive’ areas. We all need to do it at some point in our lives. But to do it in public, and in front of a girl?
I think ’scratching’ yourself and ’spanking your monkey’ looks completely different. And I’m sure the girl would know the difference!
This was quite funny at first. Until I re-read it and found out that the location this offence occured was in Berjaya Times Square (a shopping mall in KL), where both of them work.
As far as I know, Berjaya Times Square only has one Japanese restaurant… and I’ve eaten there!

On a seperate note, I’m gonna be bartending tomorrow night.
My cousin and her husband (who is one of Kuching’s top chefs) are opening a new Tapas bar in Kuching, and yours-truly was given the task of helping her create the cocktail menu.
This is nothing new to me. I helped my friend create his cocktail menu at MOJO@Denise around this time last year. In fact I’m quite excited because my cousin has given me alot of freedom and has encouraged me to use as much fresh ingredients as possible in the cocktails.
The cocktails will be very simple and fresh. The main focus will be on Margaritas, Caipiroskas and Mojitos - which we aim to make them the most popular in Kuching. So far, most bars in Kuching don’t make these cocktails, and the ones that do don’t make good ones.
Tomorrow will be sort-of a ‘testing’ night. The place is not officially open yet, but they have invited their friends to the new place to taste-test the tapas and cocktails. And that will be my job tomorrow night. It is to win everyone over with my cocktails.
I know it shouldn’t be a problem. I’ve made those cocktails hundreds of times and I know them like the back of my hand. But I’m not perfect, I do screw up once-in-awhile and sometimes what I deem to be ‘really nice’ is not shared by others. One example I made (which I thought was super), is a Thai Basil Mojito. Just about everyone hated it! Except for about four tourists, who thought it was the most unique and tropical flavor they’ve ever had.
So I’m feeling abit pressured because some of her guests include other top chefs from restaurants around Kuching. And the rest of her friends are all ‘Foodies’ - people who know their food and wine. And to me, would be the most discerning customers.
So yea… I really hope they like what I make.

Great, another place for foodies to choose. Tapas sounds good. Hey, all the best for the cocktail. Hopefully I can try one the next time I go home.
