Let’s Goyang!

UPDATE 23/06/2007: I am so fuckin clever. Turns out my theory is *nearly* spot-on! These are optical phenomenons called icebows. So all those bloody Shamans and so-called ‘Feng Shui experts’ who believe this is something mystical - can go crawl back under a rock!

Nah I doubt it.

But something cool did happen around lunch time today that got the whole office excited. There was a rainbow-ring around the blazing hot sun.

I didn’t have my camera with me, so I had to use my phone’s camera to take these - hence the lousy photos. But it was a beautiful sight for sure. The pictures are purple, but trust me - the sky was bright blue with white clouds and the colors of the rainbow-ring was crystal clear. For an hour, the sky today looked like a potrait of art.

Pretty much the whole of Kuching is talking about it. But no one knows for sure what it is. My guess is that since the weather has been cooky lately (hot, rain, hot, rain…), its just an atmospheric effect. Probably ice crystals in the air, plus the bright sun shining at the right angle… and voila!
