Hush

My sister brought back some fresh cherries from her trip to Australia. So I thought I’d try and do something with them. I recently got a bottle of Campari as well - which is currently my favourite drink. Its bitter, herbal and slightly sweet. I like it with soda or orange juice.

All ingredients in a glass

Alot of people in Kuching don’t like it because its bitter, but when mixed with the right ingredients; it can be used to make some really awesome cocktails. :)

Ingredients muddled and ice added

Ingredients:

  • 30ml Campari
  • 30ml Grand Marnier
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 2 fresh lemon wedges - cut into chunks
  • 5 fresh cherries - pits removed
  • 2 large pineapple chunks

Method:

  • Put all the ingredients into a glass and muddle it gently.
  • Add plenty of ice and give it a good shake in a boston shaker.
  • Double-strain it into a chilled Martini glass and garnish with a cherry on the side of the glass.

Finished product

This is one of the best cocktails that I’ve created in recent times.

Its not overly sweet, but its still very fruity and there’s a little bit of acid that complements the slight bitterness you get from the Campari.

Its a bitch to make though, since cherries are only seasonal and can be quite pricey. But anyway…

Cheers!
